Saying goodbye to the holidays is hard.  We all have to make the transition from time spent celebrating with family and friends back to business as usual, and the post holiday blues can easily creep in.  While your vacation time bank may be as empty as your Christmas stocking, it doesn’t mean you can’t keep the celebratory spirit alive during the winter months that can seem to drag on forever.  Heading out with pals for a city pub crawl is a great way to keep your enthusiasm for the new year alive.  Rediscover old favorites and new gems among DC’s bar scene and joyfully flood the streets of a different neighborhood with a different crew of varyingly intoxicated happy strangers each weekend until the spring sun makes its debut.  Check the list below, mark your drinking calendars and go be merry!  

The Hip “Hop” - Old School Hip Hop Pub Crawl

Sunday, January 17 starting at 3 pm

The 11th annual Hip “Hop” Old School Hip Hop Pub Crawl will take off from Red Lounge at 3 pm and wiggle its way through the U Street neighborhood.  The crawl will feature 6 local bars, 7 talented DJs, drink specials at each stop and enough old school hip hop to take you back in time.  Participating bars include Cloak and Dagger, Pure, Amsterdam, Solly’s and a grand finale at Tap and Parlour where the party continues until last call at 2 am.  Look out for DJ’s 2-Tone Jones, Jav and Oso Fresh among others and see the Eventbrite page for more information and to purchase tickets.  

Crawl, Walk, Run Bar Crawl

Saturday, January 30 starting at 2 pm

Fells Point, Baltimore

Join the Baltimore Dive Bar Club for a festive crawl to 5 different local favorites in Fells Point.  Festivities start off with a signature beer tasting at The Wharf Rat at 2 pm where the first 50 crawlers will receive “Crawl, Walk, Run” event beer coozies.  The crawling crew will move on to The Waterfront Hotel, Dogwatch Tavern and Alexander’s Tavern before wrapping up the night at Slainte Irish Pub.  Tickets are available through Eventbrite and early bird pricing lasts until January 19.  Make a donation to Team RWB in support of our veterans and receive a discount on tickets.  

Cupid’s Bar Crawl

Saturday, February 6th, starting at 3 pm

Cupid’s Bar Crawl brings DC’s most festive valentines together for an evening of bar hopping, drink discounts and guaranteed good times in the Dupont Circle neighborhood.  Participants can pick up their Cupid’s Crawl wristbands and signature mugs at Rumors or The Front Page from 3-6:30 pm and are then free to roam 13 plus area bars enjoying drink specials and valentine-themed festivities until 11 pm.  All participating bars will also have food specials available to keep your crawling abilities and your appetite in check.  Tickets are available from Project DC Events at discounted rates until January 20, online until the day of the event and day of at registration bars The Front Page and Rumors.  See the event website for more info and crawl on!

Crawl in Love Pub Crawl

Saturday, February 13 Starting at 2 pm

Cruise 5 popular bars in DC’s NOMA/Bloomingdale neighborhood with fellow crawling enthusiasts to bring a lighthearted touch to your Valentine’s Day festivities.  Drink specials begin at 2 pm at Boundary Stone and continue at Pub & The People, Wicked Bloom, Ivy & Coney and Baby Whale.  The first 100 ticket holders in the door will receive event beer coozies to commemorate the evening.  The Crawl in Love Pub Crawl is also raising funds for Team RWB - donate when you purchase tickets to receive a discount code by email.  Tickets and additional event details here.

Fat Valentine Pub Crawl

Saturday, February 13  Starting at 2 pm

Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras come crashing together in the U Street neighborhood in an epic celebration of all things festive on Saturday, February 13.  Over ten of U Street’s most popular bars including Pure Lounge, Ben’s Next Door and Nellie’s Sports Bar will welcome crawlers with drink specials, beads and party favors.  Dress is your most sparkling Mardi Gras and Valentine’s gear and enjoy the crowds with a special someone, a Valentine’s date, a crew of pals or a sea of strangers.  Tickets available here and don’t miss discount specials from Groupon.
