In recent years, developers have flocked to the area of central Washington north of Massachusetts Avenue (hence the name NoMa) and west of Union Station. Several high-end apartments and condominiums have sprung up along Massachusetts, and the City Vista commercial development at New York Avenue and 5th Street offers a grocery store, gym, and a few high-quality eateries. The triangle-shaped neighborhood’s limits are marked by New York Avenue on the north, Massachusetts Avenue on the south, and the Amtrak train tracks to the east. For mass transit, residents need only walk a few blocks to Mount Vernon Square Metro on the Green/Yellow Lines.
