2014 Brookland House and Garden Tour Video.
Wow! What an awesome tour this year. We had a great time at the 2014 Brookland House and Garden Tour run by the Greater Brookland Garden Club, and the after-party, with live Jazz band, lots of delicious local food from the restaurants on 12th street, at Jake's house, was so much fun.
Thank you to all the homewoners who opened their houses and to all the volunteers who helped out. Mary Pat, the president of the garden club, said "The purpose of the tour is not to raise money, but what money we do make at this event... is all put back into the community, We fund some educational activities for local children: we create community gardens and then pass them on to new adoptive parents: and we train and equip…

Lest anyone doubts that Brookland has been "discovered", simply pay notice to this recent sale. We listed the house on Thursday with a Broker open and had the Public Open house with over 100 groups of buyers coming through. Demand for the house was so great that the sellers set a deadline of Tuesday 5:00 pm to look at all the offers. We got 16 (sixteen!) good offers from very excited buyers and a few great offers. The house sale closed today for $710,000. This was an outrageously awesome house, and buyers clearly loved it.
