Bike to Work DC!

  Bike to work day is May 17th 2013

 DC is becoming more and more bike friendly. To encourage more people to get off the hot Metro, out of their air conditioned cars and get healthy, Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association sponsor a Bike to work day.   Really, nearly every day can be a bike to work day.
We even got theses handy dandy bike pumps attached to some of the bike locking stations around DC.

The Metropolitian Branch Trail is part of the East Coast Greenway.  If you were so inspired you could bike from Maine to Key West.  While that might be a bit much for us, Our entire team here at Abbott Klar Real Estate Group will be biking to work and showing houses by bike on Bike to Work Day. The National Capital Region—or the “DMV,” if you must—is perennially one of the top career destinations in the country.  We live in a sea of Ph.Ds and all manner of fancy degrees—the most of any metropolitan area in these United States.  All of this blurs the fact that you could easily justify moving here because it’s a helluva good time—if you know how to leave your suit at the dry cleaners and toss your government-issued Blackberry in the Potomac (or at least shut the darn thing off for a few hours).  There are countless ways to enjoy the city and its surroundings, but here’s one of my favorites: Brunch, Boat, Play Ball!

Brunch spots abound in Washington, D.C.—a treasure trove of egg bennies, bacon, and towering stacks of pillowy pancakes, often served up with copious mimosa refills.  But if you want to avoid falling into a brunch rut, swap your standard Sunday fare for a tidal wave of flavors from the south of India, which, according to my taste buds, is the center of the spice universe.
